Henri Bendel Canine Collection Fall 2015

Henri Bendel has expanded their canine collection and introduced a few new goodies for fall.

The pièce de résistance of the collection is their new Luxury Pet Carrier, which is crafted from Saffiano leather and folds down into a play mat. Featuring a terry cloth pad/cushion, it can hold up to an 11 pound doggy fashionista. (We were a little bit surprised that they went with a terry cloth pad vs. something more plush, like a fleece or sheepskin.)

While it will break the bank at $448 + tax, you can add your own customized monogram, which got us thinking what initials we'd roll with... after all, we've never given much thought to Paddy's middle name... Anyhow. Besides the price, our other concern is weight - while I'm not too familiar with the leather in question, that could make the bag a little on the hefty side to start with without your bestie inside.

On the more budget friendly side ($48), HB also is offering their take on the poop bag holder, "The West 57th Dog Baggie" in pink or black which hides your doggy's bags inside a chic looking pouch. We love the look, but probably not the hassle of having to unsnap the container each time we need a bag. It's also not clear if the roll snaps into anything inside the pouch or if it's just loose, which could spell disaster. (Seriously... who designed this?)

If we were to indulge ourselves in anything from HB's Fall Collection, it would be this Packable Dog Bowl, which folds up into a nice little wallet sized thingy. Though expensive (again $48... that seems to be Henri Bendel's magic number), it is compact and definitely very cute with their trademark brown and white stripes. The outside is leather and the inside bowls are coated canvas.

What luxuries do you indulge your dog in?

Three Dog Bakery Ice Cream Biscuits!

Three Dog Bakery is known for the indulgent dog treats, and just in time for summer have introduced a new ice cream themed line of biscuits! While they offer tasty flavors like Rocky Road and Mint Carob Chip, the two that caught our eyes are their Cookie Dough Ice Cream and Neapolitan!

The Cookie Dough contains a mix of vanilla and cookie dough flavored wafers, while the Neapolitan includes carob, strawberry and vanilla! Yum!

Also, how cute is the packaging!?

Available now from the Three Dog Bakery website for $7.99 each.

Plush Luxe Pet Beds

So, how much is too much to spend on a bed for your furry friend?

We ask this question, because we've got our eye on this super luxe pet bed from Plush. What makes their pet beds different is the "nestable" pillow surface inside that allows Fido to snuggle and adjust everything to his/her liking. (We've all seen our dog do that weird digging/turning/circle thing before settling down for a nap, right?)

Ringing up at $132.95 for the small, it's somewhat of an investment, but we kind of secretly know that Paddy would love it... and we are particularly enamored with the Madeleine, with its sophisticated (but girly) combo of pink and grey.

That said, Paddy has kind of a similar setup now - though by no means as glamorous, which probably cost us less than $20 which seems to be just fine.

I guess our little pup can keep dreaming :)

How much have you spent on your dog's bed? What is the most you would fork out?

The name really says it all. This ultra luxury pet bench features a super soft and fluffy cushion for optimal napping and lounging. $2,975, available from MacKenzie and Childs website

Available in delightful scents like Lavender and Chamomile and "Happy Jasmine," this set contains everything you need to create a day at the spa for the pampered pet in your life. Includes Shampoo/Conditioner, an aromatherapy candle, and an in-between bath spray. Available in a variety of scent sets ($39), and as individual products from PupLife.com

For the technology hound: FitBark Fitness and Activity Tracker

While it doesn't include a GPS, FitBark is a FitBit for your pet. Track and monitor your pup's fitness and activity, measure their progress and behavior against other similar dogs, and get real-time updates sent to your phone via their mobile app. While it has yet to hit shelves, you can pre-order yours now from FitBark's website for $99

For the playful pooch: Walter the Rabbit

There are very few toys in the Barkzilla residence that have stuck around for more than a few weeks. Walter the Rabbit is one of the much loved. Though he has since lost his squeaker, his seams have held up during many hours of tug of war and fetch. Walter and his friends are available for $19.99 from Barker and Meowsky.

Henri Bendel Dog Collection

We want EVERYTHING from the new Henri Bendel canine collection. As any New Yorker will tell you, the HB brown and white stripes are iconic-- and now your pup can sport them too! The must-have from their canine department refresh is definitely this sporty canvas tote (perfect for summer!). Not only does it have nice long handles (which if you tote your dog around + a million other things, you'll know are ESSENTIAL), but it's also incredibly reasonably priced at $68.

This chic collar ($68) also caught our eye- love the cute bow!

While we're at it, we may as well also throw in a tin of these delicious looking treats - why not?

January 2014 Barkbox Review

As you may know, we are long-time Barkbox subscribers. Don't ask, but I swear somehow Paddy knows when that box arrives that it's for her. We thought it might be helpful for those that are on the fence about signing up, some of the things we got in our January box.

Why do we Barkbox? While we live in NYC and there are a plethora of doggie products at our disposal, Barkbox brings all of this cool stuff to our door. Though it has been a little treat heavy for small dogs (and we've passed this feedback back to the powers that be), it's been nice to have a few new toys and goodies to change things up. ESPECIALLY since it has been freezing this winter, and Paddy has had a LOT of indoor time. (Yep, I am -that- pet parent.)

In the span of time since we got the box (aka yesterday), Paddy had already consumed the bullystick and we had lost the insert card, so we apologize that our picture isn't complete nor do we have the "official names" for one or two items. This month our small dog box contained a Harry Barker rope toy, a rubbery chew bone, Louisiana Alligator Jerky treats, and Barksters Sweet Potato & Beef Krisps (which may look so tasty that my husband may have asked to try them…).

To sign up, or gift, a Barkbox subscription, head to their website. It's also worthwhile noting that last year we spotted Barkbox subscriptions on sites like Fab.com, so keep your eyes peeled throughout the year for some additional saving opportunities! If you're already a subscriber, it's a good way to extend your subscription at a slight discount.

Our March Barkbox Delivery!

Two months ago we got a chance to check out the home-delivery service Barkbox, and were so enamored that we signed up for a six month subscription! We recently received our March delivery and wanted to share with you what we got!

Included in our box were:
  •  Ginger Snap Treats from Bing's Barkin' Bakery
  • Himalayan Dog Chews (made from an ancient cheese recipe, they're long-lasting chews for your dog!)
  • petprojekt Holobal
  • Nature's Miracle Bath Wipes
The big wins? By far the Ginger Snap Treats and the Himalayan Dog Chews! While we're already fans of the Nature's Miracle Dog Wipes, we definitely can use an extra container. Sadly, the Holobal was no match for our little monster-- it lasted for about 20 minutes before it was in pieces. At least it was enjoyed!

So far, this is definitely worth the $17 a month-- we can't wait to see what's in store for April! Want to sign up for your own Barkbox delivery? Head over to their site to check out the subscription plans!

Sprinkles Dog Cupcakes Review!

This weekend we swung by Sprinkles in NYC to pick up something tasty and stumbled upon something special for our CCO (aka Chief Canine Officer). Yup, that's right-- a special little cupcake for our pup, because as the stickers at Sprinkles say, "Dogs Love Cupcakes Too!"

Crafted from fido-friendly ingredients, these bite sized treats are sugar free and feature a yummy coat of yogurt frosting. Soft and squishy, these treats look, smell and feel like the real Sprinkles cupcake deal. As you can see, we had no issues getting Paddy interested in this one:

Available at Sprinkles locations for $2.50 each.

Pretty in Pink for Your Pup

Of late, we've been on a super girly kick... maybe it's spring, maybe it's that unrealized dream of becoming a prima donna  (personally, I blame the discovery of this adorable ballerina inspired dress)....

Nevertheless, we scoured the web for the ultimate in girly girly for the pampered pooch in your life, and here are our favorite finds:

1. Sugar Plum Dog Tent: Because what dog doesn't need a boudoir?
2. Louis Dog Twosome Coat: Tulle and faux fur, need we say more
3. Shabby Chic Pink Dog Feeder: This we are actually seriously thinking of picking up.
4. Sojos Peanut Butter and Jelly Treats: Peanut Butter Jelly Time!
5. Flopsy Bunny Toy: This would last all of two seconds, but it's so cute.

Does your dog have a style? Does it change? Tell us more!

Our @GetBarkBox Delivery!

January was an INSANE month. In addition to getting back into the swing of things after the holidays, there was LOTS of travel (9,000 miles baby!), and honestly we kind of fell into a blogging slump. Not only did we not have the time to scour the web for fun finds, but we also were just not in the mood.

Luckily for us, earlier this week the awesome folks at Barkbox delivered an ENTIRE box of doggy goodness to our door! And get this, they can also deliver one to your home as well!

That's right, Barkbox is the doggy version of Birchbox, the beauty service that delivers deluxe samples to your door each month for a flat subscription fee. Each month you get a selection of hand-picked products to try out! Worried about getting products that aren't right for your dog? Have no fear-- you actually get to select the package that's the right size for them.

So, what did we get in ours? In addition to three bully sticks (seriously, you had us at just that), we get samples:

Heal My Paws: A moisturizing balm that protects paws from extreme hot or cold.
Happy Paws Dog Massager: This is AWESOME-- not only Paddy is already obsessed and it made her coat super soft and shiny, but the Barkbox people also INCLUDED THE BATTERY needed!
Puppy Dust: Is your pup a picky eater like Paddington? This all natural topping is designed to whet your pooch's appetite.
Charlie Chews: Baked in our native NYC, these 100% organic treats contain no preservatives and all-natural ingredients.

It's super easy to sign up, simply head over to Barkbox's website and select the subscription package that is right for you-- by far the best deal is $17/month for 6 months. We definitely recommend heading over to their Facebook page to check out pictures of what past Barkboxes have contained if you're not sold.

Not only is Barkbox a great deal (hello, raise your hand if you've walked into Petco/Petsmart for one thing and walked out with $100 in random stuff), it's also really fun to get a box full of surprises each month and there's free shipping! We'll definitely be signing up!

How do you get introduced to new products?

Bocce's Bakery Truffle Mac & Cheese Biscuit Review

Have you entered our Bocce's Bakery Giveaway yet?

We were given the opportunity to do a little taste test of the Truffle Mac & Cheese Biscuits (don't worry-- the winner of our giveaway gets a full, unopened bag + a bag of Holiday Feast flavor!), and let me tell you-- if we hadn't sealed the bag, they would have been gone in a HOT minute.

Made from yummy (skim!) mozzarella, and lean turkey bacon, the folks over at Bocce's have added a sprinkle of truffle oil to make them even more mouth-watering.

Baked in small batches from fresh, human-grade ingredients, they include no chemicals or preservatives. For those with sensitive tummies, they're also wheat, and important for Paddy, liver, free. The perfect size for small mouths, they break easily (without making a messy crumble), which is great for those pups that are watching their waistlines this holiday season.

While we've only got one bag to giveaway, you can head over to Bocce's Bakery and pick yours up directly from their site. Why not pick up some for your furry friends as well? Seriously-- it's the ultimate affordable, luxury gift for the holidays.

Happy snacking!
