Little Tikes x Best Friends Animal Society = #RescueTales

Slight tangent, but we have to take a moment to show you these Rescue Tales toys from Little Tikes that benefit the Best Friends Animal Society. Not only do these pets make cute realistic noises and movements, but they also impart the value of adoption and taking care of a pet. In addition to single pets, they also have a really cute grooming set (pictured above), that has a working bath tub!

While taking care of Lady keeps us busy enough, we are very tempted to welcome one of these cuties into our home since the littlest human Barkzilla LOVES playing vet/groomer. You can pick yours up online at Amazon or Target, and I believe they are also available in stores!

Disney Dogs x Dooney & Burke

Need a gift for the Disney dog lover in your life? Well look no further!

Can't believe we somehow missed the launch of these adorable Disney Dogs themed Dooney & Burke bags! This dog-centric print features classic characters like Lady, Tramp, Pongo, Perdita, Bolt, Nana, and even some other canine companions like the footstool from Beauty & the Beast.

The tote is already sold out, but you can still pick up the satchel or the crossbody bag from the Disney store online. There is also a really cute looking dress, but I am definitely not bold enough to pull it off. The bags rae expensive ($298 for the satchel 😱), but I'm hoping there might be some good pre- or post-holiday sales still!

Bocce's Bakery 2018 Holiday Treats!

Now that shopping for Paddy is part of our daily routine again, we've been so stoked to see lots of new products from some of our favorite brands on shelves. We cannot get enough of the treats from Bocce's Bakery (search this blog, you'll see lots of posts), and we were so excited to see them on the shelves at our local grocery store!! Paddy is looking forward to trying out some of the new bone broth based treats, but this year we're definitely going to be snagging some of the limited-edition holiday flavors for her stocking.

If you're new to the brand, or already a hardcore fan, you're going to want to pick up their holiday treat sampler which includes their gingerbread, Santa's Cookies, and Holiday Bone treats! And, you don't even have to worry about wrapping them - every gift set comes in a cute little bag!

Head to their website to grab your pooch something yummy for under the tree!

For the dog who has everything.... Tiffany Pet Accessories

Stumped when it comes to the perfect present for the dog who has everything? This holiday season Tiffany has introduced some brand new pet presents that are sure to delight your furry friend -- after all, who doesn't love a little blue box under the tree? While these presents are on the $$ side, Tiffany's prices are pretty much on par with what we've seen from Louis Vuitton, Henri Bendel and other luxury shops. Not sure what the in-store availability is, but most of these items are currently in stock on their website.

If stainless steel isn't going to cut it, these bone china dishes come in small ($125 and currently sold out), and large ($175). The inside features a bone with Tiffany written on it.

Leashes and collars in Tiffany's colors are sure to get your doggy noticed at the park. Available in small ($200), medium ($225), and large ($250), each collar has the iconic "Please return to Tiffany" hardware. Leashes in small ($275) and large sizes ($300).

What do you think? Splurge or skip?

Raise a Glass to National Dog Day!

This Saturday, August 26th, is National Dog Day and ONEHOPE Wine wants to let you help dogs in need by drinking wine. Yes, you read that right. Drink wine, help dogs.

ONEHOPE encourages others to “serve and celebrate” National Dog Day with a bottle of wine, and a gift for both humans and pets alike. The best part…each product helps to fund pet adoptions:

Pinot for Paws Woof! Gift Box ($49) – Includes ONEHOPE CA Pinot Noir, Tennis ball, #WINENOT canvas bone dog toy, cotton rope toy, and gourmet treats. Every box helps fund 1 pet adoption.

California Pinot Noir ($19.99) – Every case funds 1 pet adoption

And even if you're reading this and it's not National Pet Day anymore, what a great way to support a worthy cause any day of the week. These sets would make cool gifts for anyone in your life who loves dogs.

To date, ONEHOPE has helped more than 43,000 shelter animals find a forever home which is pretty awesome. We'll drink to that!

Cheers!

*(Sidebar: I swear there is literally a holiday for everything... pretzels, ice cream sundaes...)

2015 Holiday Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffer - Minty Fresh Z Bones!

Need the perfect stocking stuffer for your pup? Check out these limited-edition Minty Fresh Z-Bones from Zuke's. Perfect for naturally freshening your doggy's breath, these bones do NOT contain wheat, gluten, cornstarch or synthetic cholorphyll. In addition to keeping your pup's mouth minty fresh, these dental chews help to polish teeth and massage gums.

Paddy is a big fan of the spearmint and fennel ingredients and has been working her way through her current bone for the past week. We love that these winter treats come individually wrapped (how cute would they look with a big bow!), and won't break the bank. In addition to sticking one or two in a stocking, they'd make the perfect little gifts for the dogs in your crew :)

Available for a limited time these treats are on shelves now at your local pet store!

2015 Holiday Gift Guide: Sleepypod Cloudpuff Blanket

Greetings! We hope you and your families had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

It's getting chilly here in So-Cal (okay, so it's in the 60s…), which is why we are EXTRA grateful for Sleepypod's new Cloudpuff Blanket and it is a MUST-HAVE for our 2015 Holiday Gift Guide!

Featuring one super-soft and fluffy side and a micro-suede backing, the Cloudpuff comes in two shades of brown and two sizes (medium and large). The medium is definitely sized for smaller dogs, and it fits very comfortably inside of our Sleepypod Air.  It did not take up too much space when laid flat on the bottom, and we also really liked how it could be easily folded up to double as a bolster or pillow.

While the Cloudpuff is intended as a travel accessory, we've also been bringing it with us to pilates (yes, Paddington comes with us to pilates…), as a cozy place for Paddy to sit and do her yoga stretches.  Our pilates studio has hard wood floors, and the micro suede side of the blanket prevents it from slipping around which is nice.

The Cloudpuff is also surprisingly easy to clean: we put ours in the washer on the hand wash cycle and then air-dried it, and it came out looking and feeling like new!

With the holidays right around the corner, this would make the perfect present for any road warrior pooch in your life. Available now from Sleepypod's website for $29.99.

2015 Holiday Gift Guide: Frontgate Faux Fur Jacket for Dogs

Image via Amazon.com

It's that time of year again... Oprah has just released her holiday gift guide, which this year, includes several picks for the furry friends in your life. While in general we agree with O's taste, we can't decide how we feel about this faux fur jacket for Fido from Frontgate. While Paddington definitely does need a coat when it gets cold outside, we can't decide if it's fabulous for a pet to wear faux fur or not. It does look delightfully cozy, albeit a little odd....

If this piece of pet couture tickles your fancy, it's available with Prime shipping from Amazon for $39. Sizes range from small to XL and the coat is offered in either chinchilla or channeled mink (our personal pick).

What do you think? Would your pet accessorize with a faux fur coat?

Mother's Day Gift Guide for Dog Lovers

Do you know a #DogMom? Most likely you do! And while Mother's Day is traditionally only for those with human babies, who says the mother of your fur-baby doesn't deserve a little appreciate too? Check out some of our favorite picks for the dog mom in your life (or any mom who love dogs!).

For the Dog Mom Chef:

Hello Cupcake! Cookbook
This is one of our all time favorite cookbooks! Though I am not nearly talented enough to pull off most of these recipes, I love looking at the photos for inspiration. We also did try making the doggie cupcakes and they were much easier than you'd think! Available from Amazon for $11.48  (and with Prime shipping you'll have it easily in time for next Sunday!)

For the Social Media Savvy Dog Mom:

Mark & Graham Chelsea Dog Leashes & Collars
We've talked about how we're kind of obsessed with all things Mark & Graham. Our new favorite gift are their customizable dog leashes and collars. Why not stick your Dog Mom's favorite hashtag on there? (Or even #DogMom... or #Barkzilla, hehe.)

Available from Mark & Graham's website in a variety of colors and sizes starting in the $30 range for collars.

For the Fashionista Savvy Dog Mom:

Helen Ficalora Paw Charm
The necklace I never take off is from Helen Ficalora. Over the years I've added charms around different milestones, and of course one of my most treasured is this simple 14K gold paw for Paddy. Available from Helen Ficalora's website starting at $105.

For the Hard to Shop for Dog Mom:

Peeps Easter Dog Toys

This year Peeps has treats for your pup's Easter basket that won't break the bank!

While they're probably not the sturdiest of chew toys (Paddy would probably shred one of those poor bunnies in a hot second), these bunnies and chicks are pretty darn cute. Each toy is around 3-4" inches tall, and probably be most appropriate for small to medium sized dogs. And, at $2.99 each, they're the perfect basket stuffer.

If you've also got a kitty to Easter shop for, Peeps has rolled out a feline line of toys as well! Available from the Peeps website.

Gifts for the Dog Loving Host/Hostess

With the holidays right around the corner, it's time to start stocking up on hostess presents! It shouldn't surprise you that most of our friends have one or two canine companions, so with that in mind we always like to bring a "thank you for having us" gift that's doggy-inspired. (After all, what are you really going to do with another bottle of mediocre white wine or some floral cocktail napkins?) Here are our budget-friendly suggestions that are worth tucking away into your present closet:

One can never have enough cheese or enough cheese knives to cut them with. We picked up this set last time we were at Anthropologie, and at $12 each, the trio makes for a lovely gift. The quality is absolutely amazing and they definitely look and feel more expensive than they are.

Available from Anthropologie.com or in stores.

What could be more appropriate than a set of leopard print tennis balls for your next Upper East Side cocktail soiree? The perfect balance of posh and playful, this set makes the perfect "add on" item; we're definitely going to snag some of these!

Available from HarryBarker.com, from $8.

This porcelain dog treat jar is stylish enough to live on your kitchen counter. While you could use it to stash treats/chews, we'd fill it with Paddington's knick knacks (how does she have so many random things?!), like business cards, tennis balls, backup squeakers and clickers, etc.

Available from C.Wonder for $40.

How cute would these handmade ornaments look tied onto your hostess gift? Though a little on the pricey side ($28/each), they come from Peru and are crafted by fair-trade artisans who use traditional needle felting techniques.

Available in a variety of breeds from UncommonGoods for $28 each.

And finally, a bag of delicious dog treats is never NOT going to go over well. A tin of luxury treats from a canine bakeshop, like Bocce's Bakery, is always going to be well-received-- especially in a gourmet flavor like Chicken Cordon Blue or limited-edition Holiday Feast!

What are you go to hostess gifts?

Holiday Gift Idea: @PotteryBarn's Doggy Storage Chests

Well, this is at the top of our holiday list.

So far, we're loving Pottery Barn's dog-focused additions to their line of home goods, and these bone-shaped storage chests are just the bee's knees! If you're doing the apartment living thing like us, odds are you have one main space that is your family-living-dinning-study-room, that also doubles as your dog's main hangout. These adorable wicker baskets make it easy to store your dog's stuff in a way that is attractive and won't detract from your decor.

While the price tag may keep you from picking them up "just because," we're thinking of filling them with dog treats/toys and giving them as gifts to our favorite four-legged friends this holiday season. Fill the chest with goodies and tissue paper, tie it with a bow, and voila!

Available in small ($69) and large ($99) sizes from Pottery Barn's website.

Our March Barkbox Delivery!

Two months ago we got a chance to check out the home-delivery service Barkbox, and were so enamored that we signed up for a six month subscription! We recently received our March delivery and wanted to share with you what we got!

Included in our box were:
  •  Ginger Snap Treats from Bing's Barkin' Bakery
  • Himalayan Dog Chews (made from an ancient cheese recipe, they're long-lasting chews for your dog!)
  • petprojekt Holobal
  • Nature's Miracle Bath Wipes
The big wins? By far the Ginger Snap Treats and the Himalayan Dog Chews! While we're already fans of the Nature's Miracle Dog Wipes, we definitely can use an extra container. Sadly, the Holobal was no match for our little monster-- it lasted for about 20 minutes before it was in pieces. At least it was enjoyed!

So far, this is definitely worth the $17 a month-- we can't wait to see what's in store for April! Want to sign up for your own Barkbox delivery? Head over to their site to check out the subscription plans!
