Plush Luxe Pet Beds

So, how much is too much to spend on a bed for your furry friend?

We ask this question, because we've got our eye on this super luxe pet bed from Plush. What makes their pet beds different is the "nestable" pillow surface inside that allows Fido to snuggle and adjust everything to his/her liking. (We've all seen our dog do that weird digging/turning/circle thing before settling down for a nap, right?)

Ringing up at $132.95 for the small, it's somewhat of an investment, but we kind of secretly know that Paddy would love it... and we are particularly enamored with the Madeleine, with its sophisticated (but girly) combo of pink and grey.

That said, Paddy has kind of a similar setup now - though by no means as glamorous, which probably cost us less than $20 which seems to be just fine.

I guess our little pup can keep dreaming :)

How much have you spent on your dog's bed? What is the most you would fork out?

For the Pooch who is "Le-Tired"

There is something about warm weather that just makes us want to lounge around...

Catching up on real-life post-wedding has also been exhausting... which is why when we spied this adorable doggy chaise in our inbox, we KNEW we had to share it with you.

Featuring more technology than the bed we sleep on, this bed utilizes the SNOOzZzONE™ Pet Comfort System to allow your pet to rest in absolute comfort.

Specs include (and we kid you not...) :
·       Self-Warming Thermal Reflective Layer – Reflective technology helps preserve your pet’s temperature by reflecting the warmth his or her body generates.
·       Gel Core Comfort Layer – The gel-core science provides your pet with superior pressure distribution for a more comfortable and cooler sleep.
·       Memory Foam Comfort Layer – Memory foam conforms to your pet’s body position to provide ultimate support when snoozing. Perfect for pets with orthopedic needs.
·       Allergen, Microbe, Dust Mite Protective Liner – The cushion liner protects your pet and his or her bed from water penetration, mold, dust mites, bed bugs, allergens and microbes.

Also fabulous-- storage beneath the main cushion!

Available in three colors from Wag.com for $109.

Coco & Pud Doggy Gingerbread House

I think the real question that this adorable Coco & Pud holiday doggy bed poses is, "who doesn't want to live in a gingerbread house?"

Probably only seasonally appropriate, it's a good thing that we can't find a US retailer -- otherwise we would be those people that leave their holiday stuff up year round.... awkward.

Originally spotted by our friends over at Pretty Fluffy. For more info about pricing and availability, check out Coco & Pud's website.

Arabella & Fern Klondike Bed

Pet-envy (noun): A feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by one's pet's possessions, qualities, or luck.

Out of the many products we've test driven, the Arabella and Fern Super Cudgie is paws down one of our favorites to this day. Seriously, it's a little piece of luxury, and we kind of wish there was a human-sized version available.

Thus, when we spied the new Klondike Bed over on their site we had a moment of sheer pet-envy: a bed made out of soft, cuddly Klondike material!? OMG, please stop!

This machine-washable doughnut bed comes in two-sizes (small and medium, large is on its way!), and is made in the USA. While there is a pretty penny involved ($160 for the smaller bed, $180 for the medium), this is like the Rolls-Royce of dog beds.

Oh, and heads up Arabella & Fern folks: would fork over some major cash for a human-sized beanbag version, or queen-sized Super Cudgie. Just FYI....

P.L.A.Y. Eco-Friendly Ultra Chill Pad

Dude. It has been one hot summer, and so far there's no evidence that the mercury is going to drop any time soon. When we first heard about PLAY's new eco-friendly Chill Pads we had a minor freak out: memories of last summer's misadventures with the Cocojour Cooling Pad came rushing back.

Fortunately-- when PLAY says "chill," they mean it in the, "let's hang out because you're cool"-way not in the "hang out with me and I'll lower your body temperature"-sense. Phew. Meltdown avoided.

Made from ultra-fine plush and featuring a faux-suede bottom, the Chill Pad is designed to allow your pet to relax in a temperate state. Breathable and light weight, they're perfect for throwing in the back of the car or taking along to the next picnic to let your pooch recline in style. Machine washable, and filled with eco-friendly materials, they also come in an incredibly stylish array of colors (see above).

Pick yours up starting August 8th from PLAY's website, starting at $29 for the extra small Chill Pad.

Believe it or Not: Doggy Bunk Beds

So recently we've been a little radio silent because we've been in the processing of moving. Seriously? Never again.  Also, on a total sidebar, somehow the dog had more boxes than we had dinner plates.... Anyway, now that we're settled into our new digs, we can blog away again!

While cruising around Bed Bath & Beyond's site for a shower caddy, we somehow found ourselves in the pet section (ha... surprise, surprise) where we stumbled upon the coolest dog bed ever: That's right. Bunk beds. For dogs. What?!

Perfect for the two pet household, these solid wood beds come with two different sets of cushion covers and stands at just shy of 2 feet high. Though it will set you back roughly $300… I mean come on, doesn't your furry friend deserve a bunk bed?

Available online from Bed Bath & Beyond for $299.

Fill 'Er Up Bed

How genius is this idea? Instead of throwing out those old towels and t-shirts, recycle them as stuffing the Fill 'Er Up Pet Bed. Setting up your pup's bed is easy-- simply purchase one of Fill 'Er Up's adorable 100% cotton covers and their nylon insert, and gather up those old t-shirts you've been saving from the 90's. (Hello, high-school track team t-shirt....

Not only is this creative way to find a new home for your stuff, but it keeps it from ending up in a land fill (we're also pretty sure that the stuffing used in most dog beds probably isn't good for the environment). PLUS, we don't know about your pup, but ours loves to snuggle with anything that smells of us.

Seriously, save the planet while cleaning your closet and making your dog comfy. How much better can it get?

Available from Trixie and Peanut-- bed covers range in price from $25 upwards, and come in really cute prints (we're partial to the Silhouette and Courtyard). Save $5.00 if you purchase both the cover and bed insert.

Wags & Kisses,
The Barkistas
